For any YouTube TV subscribers that have been encountering an issue with the volume button while using the YouTube TV app on a Fire TV device, the problem is now understood to be fixed.

For the past month now, a number of Fire TV users have reported the issue. Basically, when they attempt to adjust the volume while watching a program in the YouTube TV app, the progress bar shows up instead.

The first accounts of the issue seemed to have appeared after an update to the Fire TV app that rolled out in early August. According to one of the reports on Reddit, while reinstalling the app didn’t seem to help, rebooting the Fire TV device would sometimes resolve the issue, albeit only for a short period.

From the reports we’ve seen, the issue seems to have been more frequently encountered on Amazon’s stick-based devices, including Fire TV Stick and Fire TV Stick 4K Max.

Regardless of which Fire TV devices were affected, it appears as though the problem has now been resolved. A YouTube TV Community Manager has been replying to a number of posts describing the issue, confirming that the problem was fixed today.

At present, it is unclear whether the issue has been resolved via an app update, but anyone still experiencing the problem may want to check for any available updates and apply them.

For those new to YouTube TV and considering giving this live TV service a try, YouTube today dropped the price down to $54.99 a month for the first three months, resulting in a saving of around $18 a month.
