YouTube TV plans to offer a bundle option that combines NFL Sunday Ticket with Max. YouTube TV officially took over Sunday Ticket earlier this year and is already offering the option for subscribers to add the NFL subscription to their live TV package.
In addition to the standard NFL Sunday Ticket add-on, YouTube TV also offers the option to bundle Sunday Ticket with NFL RedZone. This bundle option costs $389 per year, resulting in a $40 increase compared to the price of the standard NFL Sunday Ticket add-on.
The confirmation of the new option to bundle Max with NFL Sunday Ticket was provided by Google’s Chief Business Officer Philipp Schindler during Alphabet’s Q2 2023 earnings call. According to Schindler, the new bundle is part of an expansion of the existing agreement between Google and Warner Bros. Discovery.
In spite of confirming the new bundle option, Schindler did not provide any details on how much it will cost, or when it will become available to subscribers.
YouTube TV already offers the option to subscribe to Max at $15.99 a month. This is for the Ad-Free plan, with no current option to subscribe to either the With Ads or Ultimate Ad-Free plans. Considering YouTube TV doesn’t offer a monthly option for NFL Sunday Ticket, and presuming that doesn’t change, we would expect the new bundle option to include an annual subscription to Max.
If that is the case, then the arrival of the bundle will mean YouTube TV subscribers can sign up to either a monthly or annual Max subscription, even though the annual option will cost significantly more than through Max, due to the inclusion of access to NFL Sunday Ticket.
It currently remains to be seen whether the same Max bundle option will become available to those that signed up to NFL Sunday Ticket as a YouTube Primetime Channel.
