How YouTube TV’s Sports Plus Compares To Fubo’s Sports Plus

YouTube TV and Fubo both offer a Sports Plus add-on that can be bundled with a base plan to improve the variety of sports channels that a subscriber has access to.

The name is not the only similarity between the two, as both live TV streaming services also charge $10.99 a month for their respective Sports Plus add-ons. In addition, both also unlock access to NFL RedZone, making them good upgrades for football fans.

Here we are taking a closer look at everything else that’s similar (and different) between YouTube TV and Fubo’s Sports Plus upgrades.

Fubo vs YouTube TV — Sports Plus cost compared

As mentioned, both Fubo and YouTube TV charge $10.99 a month for their Sports Plus add-ons. While there is no difference in the price of the add-on, both Sports Plus upgrades require a base plan, and this is where the price varies.

Starting with Fubo, its cheapest plan is Pro and costs $79.99 a month. When then factoring in the price of the add-on, Fubo’s Pro plan with Sports Plus costs a minimum of $90.98 a month.

$80-100/mo

  • 195-270 channels
  • 10 streams
  • Unlimited DVR

The minimum is important to note here, as Fubo also applies an additional regional sports fee in many locations. Due to this, the exact price a home ends up paying could be much higher.

Things are far less confusing with YouTube TV as there is only one English-language base plan, priced at $72.99 a month. When factoring in the cost of the add-on, YouTube TV’s base plan with Sports Plus costs $83.98 a month.

  • Unlimited DVR

Deal: Pay $65/mo for first 4 months

Overall, YouTube TV is slightly cheaper in terms of the advertised price of the base plan and Sports Plus add-on. Again, depending on Fubo’s RSN fee, YouTube TV’s base plan and Sports Plus upgrade could end up being significantly cheaper.

Fubo vs YouTube TV — Sports Plus channels compared

Regardless of the price, if a live TV service’s add-on doesn’t include the exact sports channels and networks a subscriber wants, it’s not going to be worth a subscription.

Here’s a look at the full list of channels included with both Sports Plus add-ons.

While the table above indicates subscribers will get more with Fubo’s Sports Plus, that’s not the full picture. As these are add-ons, some of the channels offered by one live TV streaming service might already be available in the base package of the other live TV service.

The table below includes all of the same Sports Plus channels listed in the table above, but adjusted to reflect any channels that are also included with the base plan. Hopefully, this provides a more accurate view of how Fubo and YouTube TV’s Sports Plus add-ons compare.

Once adjusted to include the channel available through the base packages, the picture looks a little different. Fubo still offers more channels with its Sports Plus, but YouTube TV has closed the gap a little.

In addition, YouTube TV also provides access to some sports channels that you don’t get with either Fubo’s base plan or Sports Plus add-on.

Technically, some of the channels missing from Fubo can be added through other add-ons. As an example, Fox Soccer Plus is available through the $6.99/month International Sports Plus add-on. Likewise, MavTV and Outside can be added with the $4.99/month Adventure Plus add-on.

fuboTV and YouTube TV Sports Plus — recap

Fubo’s Sports Plus offers access to more sports channels, but the cost of the base plan and add-on is higher. Even more so if you live in an area where you are going to be subject to the additional regional sports fee.

There are also some notable differences in the channel lineups, and even when adjusting for the channels included in the base packages.

For example, sports channels included with Fubo’s Sports Plus that aren’t available through YouTube TV include B2SN, CAMPUSLORE SPORTS, FUEL TV, GAME+, Horse & Country, MLB Network, MLB Strikezone, Next Level Sports, NHL Network, Pac-12 Network, PickleTV, Racing America, UNBEATEN, World Poker Tour, and Zona Futbol.

Sports channels included with YouTube TV’s Sports Plus that aren’t available through Fubo (without paying for additional add-ons) include FanDuel Racing, FanDuel TV, FOX Soccer Plus, MavTV, Outside TV+, PlayersTV, PokerGO+, and VSiN.

Overall, and regardless of whether you sign up to Fubo or YouTube TV, and especially if you add either Sports Plus add-on, you will get access to a good selection of sports channels.
