YouTube TV iOS Live Channels and Buffering Issues Appear To Be Fixed

Earlier today, YouTube TV subscribers started to notice a problem where live channels on iOS devices either wouldn’t play, or were suffering from buffering issues. The YouTube team was aware of the problem and appears to have now started deploying a fix.

The issue surfaced a few hours ago, and according to reports, didn’t only affect YouTube TV, but also YouTube Primetime Channels as well. For the most part, the issue seemed to specifically affect content that’s available to watch live.

Some of the confirmed issues that users were facing include the YouTube TV app not working, live channels not working on iOS devices, and videos on the YouTube TV iOS app continuously loading (stuck on a spinning circle).

As mentioned, YouTube was aware of the issue and confirmed that it has been working on a fix for the problem.

We are now starting to see a number of user reports confirming that their channels have returned. Others, however, still say they are encountering the same problem, or that only certain channels are back.

As a result, subscribers may see some improvement soon, while others may have to wait a little longer. Likewise, subscribers may also see an improvement for some channels while others continue to be temporarily inaccessible.

From what we understand, the problem seems to be only affecting iOS devices, such as iPhone and iPad. Providing that is correct, any Apple device users that continue to encounter the issue should still be able to access YouTube TV on an Apple TV player or via the website in the meantime.
