T-Mobile customers paying for both Home Internet and a Magenta Max voice plan now have the option of saving 50% on the cost of a YouTube TV subscription. Considering the monthly cost of YouTube TV, this is currently one of the best ways to subscribe to the service at a much lower rate. However, this is a limited time promotion and the discount only applies to the first year of YouTube TV service.

A standard YouTube TV subscription provides access to more than 85 live TV channels. While live TV is, obviously, the main purpose of a subscription, YouTube TV does also offer a number of premium features and benefits that add to the overall value. However, at $64.99 per month, it is not exactly a cheap monthly subscription to have.

For T-Mobile Magenta Max subscribers, the option to sign up to YouTube TV just became a lot cheaper. T-Mobile is currently offering its Home Internet and Magenta Max customers 50% off the current monthly rate. With YouTube TV priced at $65 per month, this promotion brings the cost down to around $32.50 each month, a saving of almost $400 over the course of a full year. Once the full subscription year has come to an end, the subscriber will automatically be charged the higher $64.99 per month rate. The only way to avoid this higher charge is to cancel the YouTube TV subscription before then.

T-Mobile already gifts its wireless and home internet service customers with a $10 discount on the cost of YouTube TV each month, following the shuttering of its own TVision live TV service. However, this is a much greater discount on the cost and makes for a much better deal for those that are eligible. The promotion has gone live today (May 10, 2022), will remain available up until July 31, 2022, and must be fully redeemed (signed up to YouTube TV) by August 7, 2022.

Of course, the caveat here is that customers need to be signed up to both T-Mobile’s Home Internet and Magenta Max services. An eligibility requirement that will likely rule out a majority of T-Mobile customers. Still, for those that happen to already be signed up to both, or existing Magenta Max customers that are currently thinking about giving T-Mobile’s Home Internet a try, the ability to get a decent selection of channels for under $35 per month is going to be worth considering. For reference, the deal is open to all eligible T-Mobile customers. In other words, it doesn’t matter if they have signed up to YouTube TV in the past.

In a related promotion, T-Mobile is also offering customers a saving of $50 on the cost of any streaming device. This promotion also requires the customer to be signed up to T-Mobile’s Home Internet and a voice plan, but unlike the current YouTube TV deal, it looks like any of the company’s voice plans are eligible. The deal won’t exactly result in $50 off the price of a streaming player at the point of purchase. Instead, customers will receive a $50 virtual prepaid MasterCard card that will need to be used within six months. It is worth noting that these two deals are not either/or, so Home Internet and Magenta Max customers can actually take advantage of both a cheaper YouTube TV subscription and a saving on the cost of a new streaming player.
