Earlier today, YouTube officially confirmed student pricing for NFL Sunday Ticket, and while there are some major savings to be had with the discount, the student plan does come with some limitations. One of the most notable is that unlimited streams are not included, and there’s no way to increase the number of streams.
When YouTube first announced it had taken over Sunday Ticket from DirecTV, it said that subscribers would only be able to watch Sunday Ticket on a maximum of two devices at the same time.
Naturally, that didn’t sound so great to football fans, and YouTube was quick to made a U-turn, announcing that it was upgrading the streams limit to offer subscribers the option to watch Sunday Ticket on an unlimited number of devices at the same time.
Unfortunately, that generous streams allowance does not also apply to students. Along with confirming the price of a student plan, YouTube also confirmed that student subscribers can only stream Sunday Ticket on one device at a time.
With only one stream available, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that the student Sunday Ticket plan doesn’t support family sharing either, unlike the non-student plan.
“The NFL Sunday Ticket Student Plan is intended for individual students. For unlimited streams at home or the option to share it with your family, you will need a standard NFL Sunday Ticket membership.”

As YouTube’s explanation makes clear, the new student plan cannot be used by homes as a way to save on the cost of NFL Sunday Ticket by having someone with student status sign up. Instead, those homes will still need to sign up and pay for a full price Sunday Ticket subscription.
For those that do qualify, and are happy with just the one stream, the price of the Sunday Ticket student plan is just $109 a season. This results in a saving of around $240 when compared to the normal Sunday Ticket price through YouTube TV, and a saving of around $340 when compared to the price of a standalone subscription through YouTube.
For those that also want access to NFL RedZone, that’s just an extra $10 for students, taking the overall price of NFL Sunday Ticket + NFL RedZone up to $119 a season.
