YouTube Added As A Paramount+ with Showtime TV Provider

Paramount Plus with Showtime linear channel

Paramount has now added YouTube as a TV provider, allowing those that subscribe to Paramount+ with Showtime through YouTube the option to log in to the Paramount+ app using their Google account details.

Last year, Paramount Global began merging Showtime and Paramount+ and this included relaunching the linear Showtime channels as Paramount+ with Showtime linear channels. As part of the same transition, Paramount has slowly been adding support for those signed up to Showtime/Paramount+ with Showtime through a TV provider to access the Paramount+ app using the same login details.

While this feature was mainly reserved for those subscribed to Paramount+ with Showtime through DirecTV (including DirecTV Stream and U-verse), Hulu Live TV and Spectrum customers, the Paramount+ partner website was recently updated to also allow YouTube users the option to sign in with their Google account and access the app.

It should be noted that the support only seems to extend to YouTube (those signed up for a standalone subscription through YouTube Primetime Channels) at the moment and not YouTube TV. However, with YouTube having recently gained support, it stands to reason that YouTube TV support might not be too far behind.

If and when that does happen, YouTube TV subscribers can probably expect the price of the add-on to increase to $11.99 a month — YouTube TV still charges $10.99 a month for Paramount+ with Showtime.

For those considering signing up through YouTube Primetime Channels, Paramount+ with Showtime costs $11.99 a month, the same price as signing up directly, following a seven-day free trial.

In addition to now authenticating access to the Paramount+ app, subscribers through YouTube can access most of the Paramount+ with Showtime content, including the live channels, directly through the YouTube app.
