A Starz and BritBox bundle will be available soon. The upcoming launch of the new bundle was confirmed yesterday by Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer during the company’s latest quarterly earnings call.
While Feltheimer didn’t confirm exactly when the new bundle will launch, it was confirmed that it will be available to consumers sometime next quarter. Unfortunately, Feltheimer did not provide any details on exactly how much the bundle will cost.
Following a price increase earlier this week, a standalone Starz subscription now costs $10.99 a month. With a BritBox standalone subscription priced at $8.99, subscribing to both services separately currently costs $19.98 a month.
With this in mind, and presuming no BritBox price increase is on the horizon, consumers interested in bundling these two streaming services can expect the price to be lower than $20 a month. How much lower is going to be the real question.
While we don’t have an answer to that just yet, it stands to reason that the bundle won’t be priced any higher than $15 a month. If it is any lower than $15, then that could be a good way to gain access to both of these services at a much lower price than usual.
As a reminder, Starz is home to titles like Outlander, Power Book II: Ghost and The Serpent Queen while BritBox offers access to British TV shows, including Classic Doctor Who, Downton Abbey, Shetland and Vera.
As part of the same quarterly earnings release, Lionsgate confirmed Starz closed out the most recent quarter with 21.3 million North American subscribers.
