The Crunchyroll app is now available to download on Samsung smart TVs. The arrival of the app makes it possible for those in the United States to access Crunchyroll’s extensive anime library without the need for any additional devices.
For those now interested in giving the app a try, it is available to download on all 2017-2023 Samsung smart TV models, and can be downloaded directly through the Samsung Smart TV app store.
While some of the content can be watched for free (with ads), Samsung TV users can choose from three paid subscription tiers (ranging in price from $7.99 to $14.99 a month) to unlock ad-free access to the full catalog. With a paid plan, subscribers can expect access to more than 46,000 episodes and movies, over 3,300 Japanese music videos and specials, and more.
In addition to the U.S., the Crunchyroll app is also set to become available on Samsung TVs in many other markets as well. According to the announcement, the app will go live in “other markets around the world by the end of the week.”
Crunchyroll has recently been on a device and platform support expansion. Back in October, for example, Crunchyroll became available through Amazon’s Prime Video Channels, offering another way for consumers to sign up to the anime streaming service. During the same month, Crunchyroll also launched a dedicated 24/7 FAST channel on Amazon Freevee, LG Channels, The Roku Channel, and Vizio WatchFree+.
