The Apple TV app along with Apple TV+ is available to watch on Amazon’s Fire Stick as well as many other Fire TV devices, including Fire TV Edition TVs by various third-party brands. In fact, Fire TV is one of the better supported platforms when it comes to Apple TV, making it a great non-Apple option for those looking to download the app and sign up to Apple TV+ to stream Apple’s original shows and movies.
As to be expected with an Apple service, the Apple TV app plays very nicely with the company’s own line of devices, including iPhone, iPad, Mac and more. However, Apple TV device support has slowly been expanding over time with the app now available to download on many other devices, including those powered by Amazon’s Fire TV platform.
The Fire TV stick has proven to be a popular option with consumers. For one thing, Fire TV Stick players tend to be a cheaper option in general and especially if picked up during one of Amazon’s annual sales. Cost aside, Fire TV Stick is also a highly useful player that not only unlocks access to a world of streaming apps, but its compact design makes it easy to take and use elsewhere, or quickly move from one room to another.

How to download Apple TV on Fire TV
Providing a subscriber has a supported Fire TV device, then the Apple TV app can either be downloaded directly on the device or through the Amazon website.
Download Apple TV on Fire TV device:
- Select “Search” from the Fire TV home screen
- Search for “Apple TV”
- Select the Apple TV app from the results list
- Click on the “Get” or shopping cart icon
Once the Get or shopping cart icon has been clicked, the app will immediately begin to be downloaded on the Fire TV device. Once downloaded, the app can be found under the “Apps & Channels” section of the home screen. Alternatively, the app can also be downloaded directly from the Amazon website. This option can be particularly useful when not near the Fire TV device or when looking to download the Apple TV app on multiple Fire TV devices connected to the same Amazon account.
Download Apple TV from Amazon website:
- Visit Amazon.com
- Sign in if required
- Search for “Apple TV”
- Click on the “Apple TV” app from the results list
- Click on “Get App” on the right
- Confirm the Fire TV device to download on
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the free purchase
Similar to when downloading directly on a Fire TV device, once the Apple TV app has been purchased (for free) and delivered to the device, the app will be available in the Apps & Channels section of the home screen. Once installed, the user will be able to open the app and link their Apple ID (or create a new one). Once an account is connected, the user will be able to stream all their existing rentals and purchases, rent or buy new ones, or sign up to Apple TV+ to stream all of Apple’s originals on a Fire Stick or another Fire TV device.
Apple TV on Fire TV summary
Apple TV can be downloaded on a Fire Stick, Fire TV player, or one of many Fire TV Edition devices. The app can either be downloaded directly on the device by searching for the app by name, or sent to a compatible device from the Amazon website. Regardless of the method used to download the app, Apple TV can be found in the Apps & Channels section of the home screen. For those particularly interested in streaming Apple TV+ on a Fire TV device, the user will need to open the Apple TV app and start a separate Apple TV+ subscription. Otherwise, they will only be able to link their Apple account and access their existing purchases and rentals or make new ones.
While not every Fire TV device is supported, the platform is one of the better options for streaming Apple TV outside of Apple’s own devices. If a subscriber finds the Apple TV app is not compatible with their existing Fire TV devices, they might want to consider upgrading to a newer model, or using an alternate streaming player to download Apple TV and sign up for an Apple TV+ subscription.
