Vidgo’s new live TV streaming package provides access to 60 channels for $39.99 per month. At this price point, Vidgo is now a viable option for consumers looking for a live TV streaming plan, but at a lower price point than AT&T TV NOW, fuboTV, Hulu + Live TV and YouTube TV.
Vidgo has now confirmed the launch of its new “Core National English Streaming Plan” for $39.99 per month with access to 60 live channels. In the main announcement, Vidgo made a big play for the inclusion of Disney-owned channels. According to Vidgo, its new streaming plan is the only one to “include in its basic package the entire suite of Disney Media Networks including ABC, ESPN, Disney Channel, Freeform, FX and National Geographic.”
For those looking for an even more robust option, Vidgo is also offering a “Plus National English Streaming Plan” priced at $49.99 per month. As to be expected, the Plus plan provides a boost in the number and selection of live TV channels.
Technically, these plans were available before today. This is why the company is not specifically announcing the launch of the plans, but instead an expansion of them.
The Vidgo Core and Plus plans were first announced back in Octotber although the launch was more of a soft launch. Both plans were more limited in the channel lineups and both were considerable cheaper. For example, the Core plan was available for just $14.99 per month with the company making it clear the prices and channels were expected to change.
That’s what has now happened with the service properly launching at what is now presumed to be its standard pricing and with its standard channel lineup.
Vidgo arrives at the right time
The company is positioning its new service as an affordable option with Vidgo CEO, Shane Cannon stating “Vidgo is the low-cost solution that helps people save money.” If timing is everything, then Vidgo has arrived right on time.
Earlier this week, a previously announced Hulu + Live TV price increase took effect. This resulted in the cost of the basic package rising to $54.99 per month. In addition, AT&T TV NOW recently upped its prices with its basic plan now costing $65 per month. Likewise, both fuboTV and YouTube TV increased their prices this year to at least $50 per month.
With Vidgo’s new plans now here, the basic plan is cheaper than the basic plans from AT&T TV NOW, fuboTV, Hulu + Live TV and YouTube TV. In fact, the Plus plan is also cheaper than AT&T TV NOW. fuboTV, Hulu + Live TV and on par with the cost of YouTube TV.
Vidgo’s new expanded plans are available with a 7-day free trial.
