Verizon is now offering a new myHome home broadband package that includes discounted streaming services. In addition, myHome customers can also add YouTube TV to their plan in replace of Fios TV.
Essentially, once a customer chooses their internet plan (Fios, 5G Home or LTE Home), they then have the option to add a number of streaming services as ‘Perks’ for an additional $10 a month. For example, Netflix and Max (with ads), Disney Bundle (Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+), YouTube Premium, and Walmart+ (which includes Paramount+).
With each of these Perks priced at $10 a month, they are typically cheaper than subscribing directly. Verizon also plans to add Apple One (which includes Apple TV+) as a $10 a month Perk later this summer.
Verizon says it has launched the new myHome plan as a way to help simplify the home internet and entertainment experience for customers.
“Home internet frustrates customers, and home entertainment can be overwhelming. With myHome, customers now have the transparency and price guarantee they deserve on reliable internet, and an easy way to choose the best entertainment options with exclusive savings,” said Sowmyanarayan Sampath, CEO of Verizon Consumer.
Along with its attempt to simplify the experience, it looks like Verizon is also attempting to fix another consumer pain point – price increases. According to Verizon, myHome pricing is guaranteed for up to four years, and there are no hidden fees or equipment charges. Customers also retain the option to make changes to their myHome bundle at any time.
