Verizon myPlan and Home Internet customers can now get twelve months of ViX Premium for free, resulting in a saving of around $80. Well, technically, the free twelve months won’t be available until June 20. The new freebie is being made available as part of an expansion of the partnership between Verizon and TelevisaUnivision.
ViX Premium offers access to a variety of Spanish-language live and on-demand content, including original series, live sports and more. The free 12 months will be available to redeem through Verizon +play, and will need to be redeemed by July 31, 2024.
“Verizon is committed to keeping our customers connected to the people, places and passions that they love,” said Angie Klein, Senior Vice President, Growth Marketing & Content at Verizon. “ViX Premium provides the U.S. Latino audience with an unprecedented portfolio of original and live Spanish-language content, and this partnership with TelevisaUnivision is a meaningful opportunity for Verizon to deliver the content and exclusive experiences our customers want.”
Once the initial twelve-month period comes to an end, the subscription will auto-renew at the usual rate unless canceled. At present, ViX Premium costs $6.99 a month.
This agreement marks another major partnership for ViX. In 2022, prior to ViX Premium’s transition from ViX+, TelevisaUnivision agreed a similar deal with T-Mobile, resulting in T-Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile customers also being able to get a free subscription to the Spanish-language streaming service.
Even more recently, Charter and TelevisaUnivision agreed their own deal, ensuring Spectrum TV Select and Mi Plan Latino customers that get TelevisaUnivision channels as part of their live TV package also get access to ViX at no additional cost.
