Venu Sports has confirmed its upcoming sports streaming service will cost $42.99 a month. New subscribers will also be able to take advantage of a seven-day free trial to test out the service before paying for a subscription.

In a bid to attract new subscribers at launch, Venu Sports is also offering somewhat of a price guarantee. Basically, anyone who signs up at the launch price are being guaranteed that the cost of their subscription won’t increase during the first 12 months.

In spite of confirming the price, Venu Sports has yet to confirm exactly when the new sports streaming service will go live. Instead, Venu Sports simply reiterated that the streaming service would become available in the fall.

With an impressive portfolio of sports programming, Venu will provide sports fans in the U.S. with a single destination for watching many of the most sought-after games and events,” said Pete Distad, CEO of the upcoming Venu Sports service. “We’re building Venu from the ground up for fans who want seamless access to watch the sports they love, and we will launch at a compelling price point that will appeal to the cord cutter and cord never fans currently not served by existing pay TV packages.”

As a reminder, Venu Sports is the result of a joint venture between The Walt Disney Company, Fox and Warner Bros. Discovery. The streaming service brings together the sports portfolios of all three companies, unlocking access to ABC, ACCN, BTN, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNEWS, ESPNU, FOX, FS1, FS2, SECN, TNT, TBS, truTV, as well as ESPN+.

In this sense, Venu Sports is expected to be a comprehensive solution for sports fans in the United States. So much so that it may actually remove the need for many sports fans to pay for a live TV package, although all three companies maintain that the launch of the standalone service is unlikely to materially impact live TV subscribership in general.
