The Weather Channel en Español is now available to stream on ViX. The channel was added earlier today, offering homes another way to keep up to date with national and local weather forecasts.
ViX is TelevisaUnivision’s first-party streaming service and provides access to a wide variety of content from TelevisaUnivision brands. This is in addition to content from select third-party networks and brands.
The latest addition to ViX’s live TV channel lineup is The Weather Channel en Español, which can now be found on channel 105 in the live TV guide in the U.S. For homes that primarily rely on ViX for live TV, this will be a welcomed change, considering The Weather Channel is the only channel dedicated to weather coverage available through the streaming service.
“The Weather Channel en Español has secured great partnerships with other major streaming platforms, but today’s partnership announcement with TelevisaUnivision is significant because ViX is totally dedicated to serving the Hispanic community with Spanish language content,” said Byron Allen, Founder/Chairman/CEO of Allen Media Group. “This is important for the network because it supports our commitment to providing life-saving weather information to Spanish-speaking viewers across the U.S.”
For those new to ViX in general, the streaming service offers both a free and paid plan. Similar to other services, the free plan only provides access to select programming, including some live TV. However, The Weather Channel is actually one of the networks available through the free tier, so users don’t have to pay anything to stay informed on the weather.
For those that would prefer unlimited access to the service, as well as an ad-free viewing experience when watching the majority of on-demand content, the ViX Premium plan costs $6.99 a month for those based in the United States. ViX is also avaialble in Mexico and most of Latin America, with the price dependent on location.
