The CW Network has confirmed the launch of three new affiliates later this year. The new CW affiliates are due to go live on September 1 in Tucson, Arizona, Santa Barbara, California, and Corpus Christi, Texas.
The new CW affiliate in Tucson will be TEGNA’s KTTU-TV, which will also be the local home to this December’s 2024 Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl. Santa Barbara’s new affiliate will be VistaWest Media’s KCOY-TV, and the new CW affiliate in Corpus Christi will be Sinclair Broadcasting Group’s KSCC-TV.
Earlier this year, Nexstar opted to not renew CW affiliation deals with EW Scripps Company-owned stations in seven markets, including Tucson, Santa Barbara, and Corpus Christi. As a result, the new affiliates announced today will ensure The CW remains available in those areas.
Once live, viewers of each affiliate can expect access to CW primetime entertainment programming, as well as live sports including Pac-12 college football, ACC college football and basketball, NASCAR Xfinity Series Racing, WWE NXT wrestling, and LIV Golf.
Earlier this week, Nexstar confirmed it had reached a new multi-year CBS renewal agreement with Paramount Global. As part of the agreement, two Paramount-owned independent stations (WBFS-TV in Miami and WKBD-TV in Detroit) are also set to become CW Network affiliates on September 1, 2024.
Similar to the affiliates confirmed in today’s announcement, Paramount’s WBFS-TV is also replacing Scripps’ WSFL-TV as The CW Network affiliate in Miami.
