Fans of The Criterion Channel can currently sign up for an annual subscription and only pay $79.99 for a full year, resulting in a saving of $20. This ‘winter special’ promotion is live now and will remain available through Jan. 31, 2024.

Those now considering taking The Criterion Channel up on its latest offer will need to make sure they use the NEWYEAR24 promo code when signing up through the website. Simply click on Sign Up, select the Annual – $99.99 / year tier, and enter NEWYEAR24 in the Promo code box. The price should then reduce down from $99.99 to $79.99.

As the use of the promo code does not affect the standard 7-day free trial The Criterion Channel offers, new subscribers do have a full week to make their mind up before paying for the annual plan.

If new to The Criterion Channel, the streaming service comes with a focus on independent content. Along with access to the Criterion Collection, subscribers can also watch a collection of classic and contemporary films from Hollywood and around the world. This is in addition to various shorts, trailers, behind-the-scenes documentaries, interviews, video essays, and more.

For those that don’t want to pay for a full year in advance, it is also possible to subscribe on a monthly basis. However, with the monthly subscription priced at $10.99, monthly subscribers would end up paying around $130 over the course of 12 months.

That’s what makes this latest deal so good. While annual plan subscribers normally save around $30 each year by paying for the year in advance, the additional $20 in savings means those who remain subscribed for a full 12-month period can save as much as $50, when compared to paying the standard monthly rate for 12 months.

As is typically the case with any discounted subscription, The Criterion Channel annual plan will automatically renew after the first year, unless canceled, and at the usual, higher rate.
