ViX Premium with Ads is now available to select Spectrum customers for free. Earlier this year, Charter and TelevisaUnivision announced a new distribution deal which included free access to ViX. At the time, the announcement only confirmed that the free subscription would become available later in the year.

With the free subscription now available, Spectrum customers who have access to Univision as part of their Spectrum TV Select or Mi Plan Latino package can access the Spanish-language streaming service at no additional cost.

Beginning today, eligible Spectrum customers can activate their free subscription by heading over to the ViX website, selecting Spectrum as their live TV provider, and signing in with their Spectrum account to confirm eligibility.

The addition of ViX’s Premium with Ads to our Spectrum TV Select and Mi Plan Latino plans will enable our customers to watch even more premium Spanish-language content as part of their Spectrum video service,” said Tom Montemagno, Executive Vice President, Programming Acquisition for Charter. “By working with our programming partners to include streaming apps like ViX in our video packages at no extra cost, we continue to evolve our new video paradigm with extraordinary additional value for customers.”

As the name suggests, Premium with Ads is an ad-supported plan, so Spectrum customers can expect to encounter ads when using the streaming service. ViX charges $4.99 a month for its ad-supported tier, so Spectrum customers are saving up to $59.88 a year with the free subscription.

In terms of content, ViX Premium with Ads unlocks access to more than 10,000 hours of premium Spanish-language content, exclusive movie premieres, original series, telenovelas and stories along with 24/7 news coverage. This is all in addition to a range of live sports, including Liga MX, the UEFA Champions League, and the current CONMEBOL Copa América and UEFA Euro 2024 soccer tournaments.
