Spectrum SportsNet and the Los Angeles Lakers have now launched Spectrum SportsNet+, a new direct-to-consumer streaming subscription service that offers access to live Lakers games and other Spectrum SportsNet programming.
As has been the case with all of the other regional subscription services that have launched recently, including the Phoenix Suns and Washington Wizards services, Spectrum SportsNet+ is only available to those living in the Lakers local broadcast territory.
The new Spectrum SportsNet+ subscription service is available now and costs $19.99 a month. There is also the option to subscribe on a season-long basis for $179.99. Other than the price and the subscription length there doesn’t seem to be any other major differences between the two plans.
Regardless of which subscription tier is chosen, subscribers get access to a 24/7 digital stream of Spectrum SportsNet. A subscription also includes access to more than 70 live Lakers games during the 2023-24 season, including this Sunday’s game against the Sacramento Kings.
Subscribers can also expect access to pregame and postgame coverage for each game, as well as additional original Lakers programming throughout the year.
“This new service gives Lakers fans another way to watch their favorite team in action on the court,” said Tim Harris, President of Business Operations, Los Angeles Lakers. “The launch of Spectrum SportsNet+ brings the premium, in-depth coverage, analysis and behind-the-scenes content to more fans across the region, allowing us to reach more people every day and grow the next generation of Lakers fans.”
For those now planning on signing up to Spectrum SportsNet+, the service can be accessed via NBA.com and through the NBA App, which is available on a variety of platforms and devices, including Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, and Roku players, as well as Android mobile, iPhone, iPad, PlayStation, and Xbox devices.
The NBA has also confirmed that existing DirecTV, Spectrum, and Cox pay TV customers subscribed to a live TV plan that includes Spectrum SportsNet can access Spectrum SportsNet+ by signing into the same app and authenticating their subscription.
