Sling TV has now launched a new $5 Soccer Pass that unlocks access to beIN SPORTS and ON Sports. Best of all, Sling’s new Soccer Pass doesn’t require a Sling TV base plan, making it possible to get access to a wealth of soccer content for just $5 a month.
Considering the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tournament is now underway, the timing of the release of this pass is not a coincidence. beIN SPORTS is the U.S. channel home of the current AFCON tournament, so subscribing to Soccer Pass will unlock access to all of the games through February 11, 2024.
AFCON aside, Soccer Pass is being advertised as a new solution for streaming international soccer in general, with the add-on also unlocking access to Ligue 1, Copa Libertadores and Turkish Süper Lig matches.
In addition to the low entry price of this subscription, and the lack of a need to be signed up to either the Sling Orange or Sling Blue base packages, Soccer Pass also comes with a 3-day free trial, making it possible to test out the service before paying.
For those that are sure Soccer Pass is the right solution for them, Sling is also offering the option to pay $60 for an entire year. While this annual price doesn’t work out any cheaper than paying $5 a month, Sling does point out that it is a way to lock in the price for a full year. Which, to us, sounds a little like an ominous warning.
For reference, we’ve run into some issues when attempting to sign up to Soccer Pass after logging in as a former Sling TV customer. For those that also run into similar issues, it might be worth considering signing up to Soccer Pass with a new email address, as that seemed to work for us.
