Sling TV subscribers can watch AMC Plus for free this weekend. The live TV streaming service has been making a different premium subscription available for free each weekend over the past few weeks, making it possible for subscribers to watch live TV channels and on-demand content they would otherwise have to pay extra for.
Sling started its ‘Freeview Weekends’ promotion back in June and has since opened up access to a variety of popular subscription services including Showtime, Epix, and Hallmark Movies Now, among others. There’s nothing subscribers need to do to access these services during the free previews other than open up the Sling app and start watching, making them a nice perk of having a subscription.
This weekend it is the turn of AMC Plus. The free AMC Plus preview is available today (Aug. 26) and will remain available though August 28th, 2022. For those that want to remain subscribed to AMC Plus once the free preview has come to an end, the service can be added to any Sling TV plan through the account section of the Sling TV website. If adding AMC Plus to a Sling TV plan, consumers can expect to pay an additional $8.99 per month on top of the cost of their base subscription.
Unlike other streaming services, a standard AMC Plus subscription actually brings together content from a number of different services. Specifically, an AMC Plus subscription not only unlocks AMC-related videos, but also Shudder, Sundance Now, and IFC Films Unlimited as well. Sling TV subscribers have already had access to IFC Films Unlimited for free, as that was one of the other premium services unlocked by Sling via a previous Freeview Weekends free preview.
As has been the case with previous Freeview Weekends, subscribers don’t have to do anything to enable or disable access. Sling TV has already turned on access thought its website and various platforms apps and will automatically turn off access again once the weekend comes to an end. Until then, Sling TV subscribers can stream as much AMC Plus content as they want for free.
