Sling Freestream subscribers can now watch the Fox Weather channel, thanks to a new deal between Dish Network and Fox News Media. Fox Weather is a 24/7 free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) channel offering viewers access to weather-related news, information, and additional programming.
As the channel has been added today, Sling Freestream subscribers can now access the channel through the Sling TV app and website. For those unfamiliar with Sling Freestream, this is Sling’s free streaming service and doesn’t require a subscription to any of Sling’s paid live TV packages.
Not only does Sling Freestream offer free access to more than 400 linear channels, but it is also home to a library of free on-demand programming as well.
In addition to going live on Sling Freestream, Fox Weather is also now available to Dish TV customers as well. Those signed up to America’s Top 120, 200 and 250 packages can find Fox Weather on channel 222. They also now have the option of accessing the weather service through the Dish Anywhere TV app.
Fox Weather has been on a bit of an expansion of late. After adding the channel to Vizio’s WatchFree+ service last November, the Fox Weather FAST channel went live for Cox subscribers and Samsung TV users in August. Even more recently, an audio-only version of Fox Weather became available to listen to on Audacy.
For those not using any of these services, the Fox Weather channel can also be accessed by various internet and live TV services, including DirecTV Stream, Fubo, Verizon Fios, and YouTube TV. In addition to Sling Freestream, the FAST channel can also be found on a number of other free streaming services, including Amazon’s Fire TV Channels, LG Channels, The Roku Channel, and Xumo Play.
