In one of the more interesting sign-up offers around, Sling TV is now offering the chance to win a free LG TV. This is a month-long promotion and is not a one-winner-takes-all deal. Instead, Sling and LG are planning to give away 28 LG TVs in total, one for each day in February.
The promotion is pretty straightforward. Anyone who signs up to Sling TV in February will automatically be entered into the draw to win a free LG TV for that day. According to the promotion page, you don’t even need to sign up for a live TV plan, Instead, simply signing up for a free Sling account will still be enough to be entered into the draw.
To explain how the free account works, while Sling TV does offer a variety of live TV plans to choose from, it also offers a ‘Sling Free’ experience. This is similar to what’s available with other free streaming services, so it is possible to sign up for a free Sling account and watch a variety of live channels or on demand content without paying for a live TV subscription.
For reference, Sling TV recently reactivated a past promotion which makes it possible to subscribe to either Sling Orange or Sling Blue for just $20 for the first month. This promotion is still live and does not affect the giveaway. In other words, you can sign up for a month of Sling TV for $20 and you’ll still be entered into the giveaway for that day.
According to the official rules, it seems as though the competition is being broken down on a weekly basis. Basically, the current week promotion is live now and runs through Feb. 7, 2023. After which (Feb. 8), seven winners will be selected with the LG TVs then expected to be fulfilled by March 30, 2023. Presumably, the next week of competition then starts and repeats throughout the month.
As to be expected, there are some other eligibility requirements so it is worth checking those out before actually signing up and entering, if you plan to.
For those more interested in the specifics of the prize, the TV in question is an LG 50-inch NANO75 UQAM series 4K smart TV. Here it is on Amazon for more details, but the main takeaways are that it is a 4K TV, runs webOS 22 with ThinQ AI, and retails for $429.99 in the United States.
In reality, new subscribers probably shouldn’t just sign up in the hope of winning the free TV, and especially for any of the paid plans. However, if currently in the market for a new live TV streaming service, then it might be worth checking Sling TV out and being entered into the draw at the same time.
