New Mint Mobile customers are currently being offered six months of Paramount+ for free. Considering Paramount+ Essential typically costs $5.99 a month, the free six months works out to be $35.94 in savings.
The offer officially began on May 1 and new customers have up until May 31, 2024 to sign up and lock in the free six-month subscription. After signing up, customers will receive a promo code (via email) which can be used to redeem the Paramount+ Essential plan — the code will need to be redeemed by June 30, 2024.
It would seem that a new Paramount+ account is required, ruling out the possibility for existing Paramount+ subscribers to add the free six months to their account.
In addition to the free six months, Mint Mobile is also offering customers the first three months of its Unlimited plan for $15 a month. For reference, the full price of the first three months is paid in advance, resulting in an upfront payment of $45. After the third month, the customer will automatically begin paying the full price of the plan.
Similar to how Mint Mobile’s Unlimited deal works, the Paramount+ subscription will also automatically renew at the full price once the promotional period ends. Therefore, and unless canceling before the end of the final free month, the new Paramount+ subscriber will begin paying a minimum of $5.99 a month.
Interestingly, the partnership with Paramount+ is being used to promote IF, the new Paramount Pictures movie starring Ryan Reynolds. While it is expected that IF will eventually be available to stream on Paramount+, it is available to watch in theaters on May 17.
Ryan Reynolds confirmed the Paramount+ deal in a Mint Mobile and IF teaser earlier today.
