Discovery+, Starz, Showtime & More Just $0.99 On The Roku Channel

The Roku Channel is now offering the option to sign up to various premium subscriptions for just $0.99 per month for the first two months. Although this is only for the first couple of months, it can be a good way to substantially save on the cost of premium networks. Not to mention, it is considerably longer than the free trials offered by many of these third-party services.

There are a variety of streaming services that any individual or household can sign up to and many of them come with their own unique selling points. The problem with this variety is that the price can escalate quickly when having to pay for multiple subscriptions each month. Free trials can be a good way to test out a service before paying, but the length of time available is often quite limited, making promotions sometimes worth considering instead.

Right now, The Roku Channel is offering a variety of premium subscriptions at just 99 cents each for the first two months. The promotion went live today on The Roku Channel and is due to remain available up until May 29th, 2022. At which point, the discounted subscriptions will revert back to their usual monthly price. Discovery+, Epix, ScreenPix, Showtime, and Starz can all be subscribed to at the $0.99 per month rate for the first two months, making this a good promotion for those interested in popular movies and TV shows.

To be clear, this is a fairly inclusive promotion. In addition to the premium movies and TV services mentioned above, the same 99 cents promotion is also available for Noggin, UP Faith and Family, Hallmark Movies Now, Motortrend, Kocowa and Fox Nation, among others. There’s also nothing stopping an individual or household from signing up to multiple subscriptions at the promotional price at the same time.

Of course, it is important to remember that after the first two months, the cost of each of these subscriptions will revert back to their usual rate. This will happen automatically so the onus is on the subscriber to actively cancel before the two months are up to avoid paying the higher rates. In the case of some of these subscriptions, like Showtime, the cost could be as high as $10.99 per month after the promotional period ends. If opting to subscribe to multiple subscriptions through the promotion, then it is all the more important to be aware of the cancellation date and cancel accordingly to avoid being billed for a combination of higher priced subscriptions, and at the same time.
