Rock Entertainment Sports Network is due to launch soon, and as the new 24/7 home of local Ohio sports. The new sports network is the result of a partnership between Rock Entertainment Group and Gray Media.
Rock Entertainment Sports Network is due to make its debut in August via Gray’s television’s over-the-air stations in Cleveland and Cincinnati. After which, the plan is to make the network available through traditional pay-TV providers.
While streaming access is also said to be in the works, it remains unclear how and when the new network will become available to stream.
With the new sports network focusing on Ohio sports, viewers can expect to catch the Cleveland Monsters and Cleveland Charge, as well as St. Edward High School and Lake Erie Crushers programming. Live broadcasts of additional local college, high school and other professional teams are also expected to become available in the future.
“The establishment of Rock Entertainment Sports Network will offer fans in Ohio unparalleled access to all levels of competitive sports and provide our diverse array of sports teams an unprecedented platform to connect with fans of all interests,” said Nic Barlage, Rock Entertainment Group and Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse CEO.
In addition to expanding its content over time, Rock Entertainment Group and Gray Media also plan to launch the sports network in additional markets within Ohio.
“Gray is thrilled to partner with Rock Entertainment Group to bring live sports free over-the-air to viewers across Ohio,” said Matt Moran, Senior Managing Vice President for Gray Television and Avon, OH resident “This joint venture is a game changer for Ohio sports fans and will usher in a new era of free televised live sports in Ohio.”
