Reelz On Philo: How Much It Costs And How To Add The Channel

John Finn Avatar
Philo and Reelz

Philo does provide access to Reelz but the channel is not available with the base live TV plan. For existing Philo subscribers that do want to add Reelz, the process is easy enough and just requires subscribing to the Movies & More add-on. However, this will result in an increase in the monthly cost of the subscription. For those new to Philo, Reelz and the Movies & More add-on can be bundled with the base plan when setting up the subscription.

One of the big selling points with Philo is the super low price and especially when compared to the other main live TV services. Of course, there are compromises to achieving such a low subscription price and the channel lineup is one of them. On paper, Philo provides access to more than 60 live channels, so it is not so much the actual quantity that’s an issue, just more of a case that the lineup might not be complete enough for some households.

In these situations there’s not usually much a Philo subscriber can do. However, things are a little different with Reelz as, even though it is not included in the channel lineup, it can be added to the base Philo plan. Technically, the subscriber will be adding the Movies & More add-on which costs $3 per month. The good news here is that the Movies & More add-on not only adds Reelz, but other entertainment channels as well.

Below are all the channels included with the Movies & More add-on for $3 per month:

  • Cinémoi
  • HDNet Movies
  • MGM HD
  • Reelz
  • Sony Movies

Adding Reelz to a Philo plan

Adding the Movies & More add-on, or any of the limited number of premium services that Philo offers, is fairly easy to do. Simply head over to the Philo website, navigate to the Account section and then add Movies & More to the current package and confirm the change. Below is the exact instructions.

Visit Philo
Sign in if required
Click on the profile icon (top right)
Click on the Account tab
Click Subscribe next Movies & More
Confirm the change

It is worth noting that if the Philo subscriber is currently billed by a third party, they may need to switch billing over to Philo before they can add the Movies & More add-on. If this is the case, the process is not any different than what’s described above other than Philo will prompt the subscriber to add a payment method when attempting to add Movies & More to their plan. The subscriber will then need to confirm the billing switch and the add-on to be added.

Subscribe to Movies & More

Even though Movies & More is not exactly an expensive add-on, it does actually come with a seven-day free, so it is possible to test out the add-on before making the first payment. Regardless of how long the household wants access to the add-on, Movies & More can be removed from the Philo plan at any time. Simply navigate to the same section of the settings as before, but this time click on the Unsubscribe button instead of the Subscribe button.

Reelz on Philo summary

Philo is already an affordable live TV streaming service and although Reelz does come at an additional cost each month, it is still likely to be a cheaper option than other live TV services that carry Reelz. For example, the cost of the base plan along with the Movies & More add-on comes to $28 per month. The next cheapest option is Sling TV. Not only does Sling TV’s plans start at $35 per month, but Reelz will still need to be added via an add-on, and at an additional cost each month.

If already subscribed to Philo and looking for a way to watch Reelz, the Movies & More add-on is likely to be a good and affordable choice. What’s more, Philo also comes with TV Everywhere support for Reelz so once the add-on is subscribed to, households also gain the option of visiting the Reelz Now website, or downloading the app, signing in with their Philo account details, and watching through the Reelz app.
