Philo has added nine new and free channels for subscribers to watch, including Cowboy Way, Outside, and Screambox TV. These new channels arrive a few months after Smithsonian Channel and Pop TV were added to the base plan at no additional cost to subscribers.
In addition to the variety of channels included with the paid base live TV package, Philo also offers access to a selection of free channels, including Crackle, pocket.watch, and Revry, among others. These latest new channels further add to that list of free, ad-supported TV (FAST) channels.
The full list of new FAST channels that are now available on Philo include Bob Ross Channel, Comedy Dynamics, Cowboy Way, Drag Race Universe, Fail Army, People are Awesome, Pet Collective, Outside and Screambox TV. Overall, this takes the total number of free channels Philo offers up to 19.
As these are free channels, existing subscribers won’t have to worry about a price increase. They will simply be available to watch in the live guide, and at no additional charge.
For those that might now be considering giving Philo a try, the big selling point with this live TV streaming service is the price. The standard, and only, plan that Philo offers costs just $25 per month, making it considerably cheaper than most other live TV services you can sign up to today, including other affordable options like Sling TV.
In spite of the lower monthly subscription price, a Philo subscription unlocks access to more than 70 live TV channels (not including the various FAST channels), an unlimited DVR for recording, wide (but not perfect) device support, and the ability to stream on up to three devices at the same time.
