Peacock closed out the first quarter of 2024 with 34 million paid subscribers, an increase on the quarter and year before. According to Comcast, “Peacock remains one of the fastest growing domestic streamers with impressive acquisition, retention and engagement trends.”

While the Peacock subscriber base remains much lower than other streaming services, it does continually seem to be in a state of growth. Considering Peacock closed 2023 with 31 million paid subscribers, the service managed to add around three million during the first three months of this year.

With Peacock having closed the first quarter of 2023 with 22 million paid subscribers, the service also managed to add around 9 million over the past 12 months. As notable, Peacock only added 2 million in the first quarter of 2023, so the addition of 3 million in Q1 2024 also points to the rate of growth increasing in general.

Of course, having access to some of the biggest movies of the year helps. Oppenheimer, for example, arrived on Peacock during the first quarter of this year. Today Comcast confirmed that the multiple Oscar-winning movie is now the most watched pay-one movie in Peacock’s history.

With Peacock also set to stream every event from this summer’s Paris Olympics, the service will be hoping to see the number of subscribers climb even higher over the coming months.

In terms of Comcast’s traditional TV customers, the company today confirmed that total domestic video customer net losses for the first quarter of 2024 stood at 487,000.
