Peacock And JetBlue Make It Easier To Watch While Flying (And Earn Points While Streaming)

Peacock is now taking to the skies after inking a new partnership deal with the American low-cost airline JetBlue. The NBCUniversal-owned service is already available to stream on a variety of different devices, making it possible to watch shows and movies at home or away from the home. This latest partnership, however, means that device support will soon extend to the cabin of JetBlue flights as well.

For a long time now, airlines have offered travelers the option to watch the latest movies and older classics on their in-flight entertainment (IFE) systems. However, with the advent of the internet and portable devices, many tend to prefer to bring their own collection with them, whether that’s by downloading shows to watch during the flight or by connecting to in-flight Wi-Fi and streaming.

Regardless of whether watching the IFE system or on a personal device, streaming Peacock while in the air is about to get a lot easier following a new deal which will see Peacock become JetBlue’s “exclusive streaming partner.” Beginning Spring 2023, travelers on JetBlue will be able to watch a selection of Peacock Originals on their seatback screens for free. Fliers will also be able to watch an even wider collection of Peacock content on their own devices by connecting to Fly-Fi, JetBlue’s free high-speed Wi-Fi.

Looking to further sweeten the deal for frequent fliers, the partnership is set to result in some additional benefits for those signed up to JetBlue’s TrueBlue loyalty program. For example, elite Mosaic status travelers will be gifted a one-year Peacock Premium subscription for free. Non-Mosaic status members will also be able to benefit from the partnership, thanks to special offers on Peacock subscriptions as well as the ability to earn TrueBlue points just for being subscribed to Peacock.

JetBlue only recently announced a number of changes to its TrueBlue loyalty program in an attempt to make it easier for more travelers to earn and upgrade to Mosaic status. With those wider membership changes also confirmed to begin in Spring 2023, Peacock is a prime example of how travelers will be able to earn and upgrade their status more quickly, and without necessarily having to take more flights.
