Parasite will be available to stream through Hulu starting from April 8. The movie has received wide praise in recent months and it looks like Hulu has now nabbed the initial subscription rights to show the movie.
Parasite recently took home the most awards at this year’s Oscars, after scooping up the Academy Award for Best Picture, Director, International Feature Film, and Best Original Screenplay. However, what was arguably the movie’s greatest achievement on the night was becoming the first non-English language film to win the award for Best Picture. This recent awards haul and history-making status has propelled the movie back into the spotlight once again, with many probably wondering when they will be able to stream Parasite?
That question has now been answered with Hulu having confirmed today that the “rumors are true” and how Parasite will be available to stream via the subscription service starting April 8. This appears to confirm Hulu has secured the exclusive for the streaming rights to show the popular movie in the US.
A major title secured by Hulu
Parasite hit US movie theaters last year and is already available to rent via most online video streaming rental sites. However, having the movie available to stream with no extra cost is likely to be a big way many subscribers in the US check out the history-making movie. On that basis, with Hulu now appearing to have the exclusive initial rights to stream Parasite, this is likely to be a big selling point for Hulu over the coming months.
This is also likely to be a big pull for those who are not already signed up to the subscription service as Hulu does typically offer a 30-day free trial. For those who do plan on signing up to see Parasite when it launches, Hulu offers two main packages – excluding access to Hulu live TV. The only difference between them is whether ads are included. The ad-free version costs $11.99 per month while the ad-supported version is discounted down to $5.99 per month.
Both the ad-free and ad-supported plans are available with the same month-long free trial.
