Paramount Plus is available to watch on Samsung smart TVs, but the app does require downloading first. There are also some other limitations and caveats that Samsung TV owners will need to be aware of before streaming Paramount+ movies and shows, including which models are supported and how to sign in after downloading the app.
Paramount+ is a great way to add Paramount and CBS content to a streaming setup. Subscriptions start as low as $4.99 per month and unlike the Paramount Network, Paramount Plus brings together popular shows and movies from multiple networks, including BET, CBS, Comedy Central, Smithsonian and more.
Of course, before streaming any of the content, the consumer will need to make sure they can access the service. In general, Paramount+ supports a number of devices and this does include Samsung’s range of smart TVs. However, that doesn’t mean every Samsung TV is supported. At present, only 2017 and newer TV models running Tizen OS are compatible with Paramount Plus. Consumers can visit this Samsung page to see a full list of the supported TV models to check whether an individual Samsung TV is supported.
For reference, there is another way to simply check whether the app is compatible with a specific Samsung TV – try and download the app.
Download Paramount+ on a Samsung TV:
- Press the Home button
- Tap on the “Apps” icon
- Click on the Search icon (top right)
- Search for “Paramount Plus”
- Select the Paramount+ app
- Click on “Install”
- Wait for the download to finish
The TV will need to be connected to the home Wi-Fi network to be able to download any apps so it is worth making sure the TV is connected to the internet and that there are no typos when searching. If the Paramount+ app does not show in the results when performing a search, then it is likely that the specific Samsung smart TV model isn’t currently supported.
After downloading Paramount+
With the app downloaded, there are still some things that need to be done to get up and running on a Samsung TV. Firstly a subscription is needed to watch Paramount Plus so the consumer will need to sign up to one of the various plans. If someone already has an active subscription, they can simply click on the “Sign In” option, select “On My TV” and enter their Paramount+ account details (email address and password) to start streaming.
For new subscribers, it is possible to sign up on the TV but only the start of the process, so consumers will also need access to another device such as a computer, laptop or smartphone. To start the process, click on the “Sign Up” option in the Paramount+ app. The user will then need to visit paramountplus.com/samsungtv using the browser on their computer, laptop, or mobile phone and enter the code shown on the TV. After entering the code, click/tap on “Activate.”
The user will then need to follow the on screen instructions on their computer, laptop or smartphone to create a Paramount+ account. This includes picking one of the plans and providing a payment method for the monthly subscription. Once the account has been created on the other device, the TV will automatically be authenticated allowing the user to immediately start watching Paramount Plus on their Samsung TV.
As a reminder, here are those steps again:
- Download the Paramount+ app
- Select “Sign Up”
- Visit paramountplus.com/samsungtv ( on another device)
- Enter the code shown on the TV
- Click “Activate”
- Create a Paramount+ account
- Click “Start Paramount+” to finish

This can be done by directly opening the “Apps” section of the Home menu, searching for the “Paramount Plus” app and clicking on “Install.” Once downloaded, the Samsung TV owner will need to sign in to the Paramount+ app with their existing account details, or sign up for a new subscription by clicking on “Sign Up” (on the TV) and then creating an account using another device with access to a browser.
