Paramount+ is preparing to roll out its Premium (and ad-supported tiers) in more countries, with Australia, Brazil, Canada and Mexico set to be among the first. At present, a standard Paramount Plus plan in Australia costs $9.99 AUD, while the same plan costs $9.99 $CAD in Canada.
On November 16th, the Paramount+ Premium tier will launch in Australia at $13.99 AUD a month or $124.99 AUD a year. Likewise, the Premium plan will launch in Canada at $13.99 CAD a month and $124.99 CAD a year, according to Paramount ANZ.
On the same day, the Premium plan will also go live in Brazil (34.90 BRL a month / 309.90 BRL a year), and in Mexico (179 MXN a month and 1609 MXN a year).
For those signing up to the Premium plan when it goes live, they will get access to the ability to stream in 4K and Dolby Vision, as well as the ability to stream on up to four devices at the same time. The latter of which is an upgrade on the two streams currently offered with the Standard plan.
According to the announcement, the Premium plan will be available on the Paramount+ app on Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, iOS, Google TV, Roku, and Samsung TVs at launch. The plan is then to add support for LG and VIDAA / Hisense TVs, as well as Amazon Prime Video and Xbox in 2024.
In terms of the ad-supported tier, the rollout will take place in 2024, and will be limited to Australia, Canada, and select other countries.
Paramount Global launched a mobile-only Paramount+ plan in April of this year in Brazil and Mexico, and this mobile tier will continue to be available in these countries instead of the ad-supported plans.
“Following the launch of the Mobile plan in Mexico and Brazil, the introduction of the Premium and Ad-supported plans will give us the ability to better serve different consumer segments by providing multiple pricing options while also tapping into tremendous opportunities among our advertising and brand partners,” said Marco Nobili, Executive Vice President, and International General Manager for Paramount+.
