Oklahoma City Thunder’s remaining 2023-24 Friday regular-season games will now be available to watch for free over the air. Following a similar agreement for the Atlanta Hawks, this marks the latest change to how local fans can tune in and watch their team play.

So far this season, OKC Thunder’s games have been available to stream with a live TV package that includes Bally Sports Oklahoma or with a Bally Sports+ subscription. However, with the issues facing Diamond Sports Group and Bally Sports, a number of new deals and agreements have been made recently.

The change to OKC Thunder’s Friday night games is part of a wider agreement between the NBA and Bally Sports, and will result in those based in the team’s broadcast territory having to tune in to the over-the-air channel to watch the games. According to the announcement, a total of eight ‘Thunder Friday Nights’ will now take place as part of this deal, beginning Friday, Jan. 26 when the Thunder plays at New Orleans.

According to the details, the games will air on Griffin stations KSBI, Ch. 52 in Oklahoma City and News On 6 Now Ch. 6.3 in Tulsa. The games will also be carried on COX (Ch. 7 in OKC, Ch 53 in Tulsa), other cable outlets, and DirecTV and DISH in OKC (Ch. 52).

While good news for those without a live TV package or Bally Sports subscription, this isn’t exactly great news for those signed up to Bally Sports+. Oklahoma City Thunder has confirmed that Bally Sports+ subscribers won’t have access to these remaining games, in spite of continuing to pay for a subscription.

Not to mention, those in an eligible area will also need access to an antenna to be able to watch the over-the-air channel.
