NFL Network is now available on DirecTV Stream. While the channel had already been confirmed to be arriving this month, it has now gone live for those signed up to an eligible live TV plan.
One of the big changes in streaming this year was the move of NFL Sunday Ticket from DirecTV to YouTube. This has led some to wonder how other NFL coverage via DirecTV Stream might be affected. In late June, however, DirecTV confirmed that it had agreed a deal for both NFL Network and NFL RedZone.
As part of that deal, NFL Network was confirmed to be coming to DirecTV Stream. While there was no mention of when the channel would go live, that changed earlier this month, with the separate confirmation that NFL Network would be available beginning July 17.
It is now July 17 and NFL Network is now available on DirecTV Stream. Technically, the channel went live a day early (July 16), so some subscribers may have already noticed that NFL Network is available.
As a reminder, NFL Network is only automatically available to DirecTV Stream subscribers that are signed up to the Choice or higher package. If signed up to the cheapest Entertainment plan then the Sports Pack add-on needs to be added to the base plan to unlock access to NFL Network.
Sports Plus costs $14.99 a month and opens up access to a variety of additional sports channels, including NFL Network and NFL RedZone. However, RedZone isn’t due to become available until closer to the start of the NFL season.
For those already subscribed to an eligible plan, or the Sports Pack add-on, NFL Network is now available to watch on Channel 212.
