A new Palmetto Sports & Entertainment sports network is currently scheduled to go live in October in South Carolina. The new sports channel is the latest to come from the house of Gray Media.

Last month, Gray Media announced the new Rock Entertainment Sports Network. Launching in August, Rock Entertainment Sports Network is designed to be the new 24/7 home of local sports in Ohio, unlocking access to Cleveland Monsters and Cleveland Charge, as well as local college, high school and other professional teams.

The equally new Palmetto Sports & Entertainment network follows the same format in South Carolina. The new network will provide access to entertainment programming, as well as local sports, including Charleston Battery, Charleston RiverDogs, Columbia Fireflies, Greenville Triumph, and Greenville Liberty.

Based out of Gray’s WIS-TV in Columbia, the new sports network will be available on WPAM 18.1 and WIS 10.4 in Columbia, WHNS 21.2 in Greenville-Asheville-Spartanburg, WZCH 35.3 in Charleston, and WMBF 32.3 in Myrtle Beach.

We’re having fun creating new fans,” said WIS Vice President and General Manager Robby Thomas. “Our audience tells us how much they appreciate watching live sports for free over-the-air. We recognize the power of sports to connect communities, and we’re thrilled to launch this statewide.”

Similar to Rock Entertainment Sports Network, Gray Media says live games from “several schools and colleges” will also be available to watch on Palmetto Sports & Entertainment when the network goes live later this year.
