YouTube TV is now rolling out a new update to the Library section that adds back New in your library. The DVR section has undergone quite a few changes recently and not all of them have been well received by all subscribers.
When YouTube rolled out the last major update to the Library, users found that the New in your library filter had been completely removed, leaving them to rely on the Recently recorded filter. Although the two sound familiar, they do operate slightly differently, and the change did not go down well with users who had preferred the ability to see what was actually new in their library.
It now looks like YouTube listened to those complaints as a newer version of the Library is now rolling out, and with it, a return of New in your library. The update has not only added back the popular filter, but appears to be a complete rolling back of the old design in general. For example, the Library menu options are once again stacked on the left with the videos listed on the right.
As is typically the case with any change in design, there are going to be some users who preferred the new look and design, and they probably won’t be happy with what now feels like a step backwards.
For those that had missed having access to the New in your library section, reverting back to the old design probably won’t be seen as a step forward, but it will be viewed as a step back on to the right path.
The only question now is, how long will it be until YouTube rolls out another change to the Library section?
