Netflix has confirmed its next live sports event will be a boxing match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson. In partnership with Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), the heavyweight boxing event will take place on Saturday, July 20.
The matchup between The Problem Child and the Baddest Man on the Planet will physically take place in the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, which is also the home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys.
For those that would like to be in attendance, tickets will be available to buy directly from MVP. While ticket sale dates have yet to be announced, it is now possible to sign up for the pre-sale to ensure access to tickets 48 hours before the general public.
For those that would rather watch from home, the heavyweight boxing match will be available to stream exclusively on Netflix. As this is a global event, all Netflix subscribers will be able to watch live no matter where they are.
“Mike Tyson is one of the biggest icons in boxing history and Jake Paul is one of the biggest disruptors in boxing history,” said Gabe Spitzer, Vice President, Nonfiction Sports, Netflix. “Saturday, July 20 will be pure drama in the ring in Texas. We are thrilled to partner with Most Valuable Promotions for this historic event and we can’t wait for these two to face off for fans all across the world on Netflix.”
The fight is just the latest sports event to be announced and hosted by Netflix, as the streaming service looks to get more involved in live sports and events in general. Earlier this month, for example, the streaming service live streamed The Netflix Slam, a live exhibition tennis match between Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz.
For those that missed the live tennis event, it is available to stream on-demand at any time on Netflix. The upcoming heavyweight bout between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson will also be available to watch on-demand, for those that don’t manage to catch the action as it unfolds live.
