If you want to watch MLB over the next couple of days, MLB.TV is currently running a Fourth of July free preview that lets you watch every game for free through Thursday.
The free preview actually went live yesterday (July 3), so some baseball fans may have already noticed the free access. For those just hearing about this free preview, MLB.TV will remain free through July 6, so there’s still plenty of time to tune in and start watching.
To take advantage of MLB.TV’s July 4th free preview, you will need to have an MLB.com account set up or create one. As an email address is the only requirement to sign up, you won’t need a credit card to create an account.
Once signed in with an account, you’ll get access to all out-of-market MLB games through Thursday. As is usually the case with these things, blackouts and other restrictions may apply.
For those that decide they would like access for the remainder of the season, MLB.TV recently dropped the price of its yearly subscriptions as part of a midseason sale. The all-teams yearly subscription is now down to $94.99 (was $119.99) and the single-team yearly subscription has dropped down to $74.99 (was $104.99).
If a San Diego Padres fan, it might also be wroth nothing that the dedicated Padres subscription is down to $54.99 (was $74.99). Unlike the standard single-team yearly subscription, the Padres subscription unlocks live in-market Padres games as well as eligible out of market games.
For those that are already signed up to a live TV plan, it might also be worth checking to see if you have any baseball available for free today and this week. Sling TV, for example, has been offering a free MLB Network preview this week (June 30 through July 4th), and we’re hearing that DirecTV Stream is also currently offering a free preview of MLB Extra Innings.
