The Max streaming service now offers a 50% discount to students. The student discount is currently only being offered on the ‘With Ads’ plan, taking the cost of a subscription down from $9.99 to $4.99 a month.

As is typically the case with any streaming service student discount, students will need to confirm their student status to be eligible for the discount. UNiDAYS is the verification platform that Max has partnered with for the process.

UNiDAYS is dedicated to enhancing the student experience, making it more enjoyable and rewarding, while easing the pressures students face. This collaboration with Max is a fantastic opportunity for us to work with a forward-thinking partner that truly understands the importance of the next generation. We’re excited to partner with Max on this incredible opportunity to offer the best original content and most popular shows to over 19 million U.S. college and university students at a more affordable price through a gated student offering,” said Jon Hawley, CEO and Co-Founder of UNiDAYS.

Once a student has confirmed their student status, they will receive a promotional code. This unique code can then be used to start the subscription at the discounted price.

It is worth noting that each unique discount code only applies to the first twelve months. After which, students will be required to re-verify their status each year to continuing accessing the streaming service at the cheaper rate for another twelve months.

In addition to the inclusion of ads, the ‘With Ads’ plan doesn’t offer the option to download videos to watch offline and limits video quality to Full HD. Otherwise, ‘With Ads’ subscribers get access to all of the same content available with the ad-free plans, including all of the Max Originals.

This also includes access to the B.R. Sports Add-On, which is still currently available to all Max subscribers at no additional cost for a limited time.
