At this price, the promotion can be a good way for an individual or household to test Hulu out over a longer term to see if it is the right service for them. If nothing else, it might be a good way to catch up on all the latest Hulu originals at a much cheaper price than usual.
Hulu offers both an on-demand and a live TV streaming service. If opting for the live TV subscription, subscribers do get access to basic Hulu as well. However, if only opting for the on-demand service, the standard plan costs $6.99 per month. There is also the option to upgrade to the Hulu (No Ads) ad-free plan, with the monthly price increasing to $12.99.

The promotion only applies to the first three months of a subscription, but it is still a significant saving on the usual cost. The promotion is live now through the Hulu website when signing up and is scheduled to remain available through May 27, 2022. The deal is part of the National Streaming Day (May 20th) celebrations.
Overall, $3 for three months of Hulu is a good deal. As per usual, automatic billing is in effect and this is probably the main caveat to be aware of, as the subscription will automatically convert to the higher price once the discounted period comes to an end. The only way to avoid paying the higher rate each month is to cancel the subscription before the final discounted month ends.
It is also worth noting that the promotion only applies to the ad-supported Hulu plan. Hulu is not offering any deal on the ad-free plan, so those wanting an ad-free experience may need to consider an alternate way to save on the cost. Otherwise, the only other real caveat is the deal is not available to existing Hulu subscribers. Unlike some other deals, however, the $1 Hulu for three months promotion is available to ‘eligible returning subscribers’ as well as those signing up for the first time. For reference, Hulu is defining eligible returning subscribers as those that have not been a Hulu subscriber in the past month.
