If you want to watch Super Bowl LVII then you’ll need access to Fox. If you are already able to receive your local over-the-air Fox channel, then you are all set, and can watch the big game for free. For those without access to their local Fox station, you’ll either need a live TV subscription or to download the Fox Sports app.
Super Bowl 2023 takes place on Sunday, February 12 at 3:30 PM PT / 6:30 PM ET, and sees the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles. From our understanding, it is possible to watch this year’s Super Bowl for free, without a live TV plan, through the Fox Sports app. However, if you do want to watch with a live TV plan then here are your options, ranked by how much you can expect to pay, and whether there’s a free trial available.
Service | Price p/m | Free trial |
---|---|---|
Sling TV | $20* | N/A |
YouTube TV | $65 | 14 days |
Vidgo | $65 | N/A |
Hulu Live TV | $70 | N/A |
DirecTV Stream | $75 | 5 days |
fuboTV | $75 | 7 days |
As you can see, Sling TV is the cheapest option for watching Super Bowl LVII overall. While Sling offers two live TV base plans to choose from, Sling Blue is the only package that includes Fox, making it the right option for those looking to stream the game.
What’s even sweeter is that Sling Blue is currently half-off right now. While the normal monthly price is $40, a current deal reduces the cost down to just $20 for the first month. Once the first month has come to an end, the subscription will renew at the usual higher rate unless canceled.
$40-55/mo
- 30+ channels
- 1-3 streams
- 50-Hour DVR
Deal: First month only $20.
It is worth noting that Fox is only available through Sling TV in select areas, so any homes considering signing up just for the big game will want to check that they are in an area where Fox is available before Super Sunday, and before paying for a monthly subscription.
How to watch Super Bowl 2023 in 4K
Depending on the live TV provider, and the plan, it may be possible to stream Super Bowl in 4K. For example, if signed up to YouTube TV’s 4K Plus add-on or fuboTV’s Elite package. Even if not paying extra for 4K, or the live TV provider doesn’t offer a 4K feed, there is another way to watch the game in the higher resolution.
Like many other popular live TV networks, Fox has its own Fox Sports streaming app that’s available to download on a wide variety of devices. Live TV subscribers can log in to the app to unlock additional content, but it is understood that Super Bowl 2023 will be available to stream for free.
Either way, the benefit of using the Fox Sports app is that it is possible to stream live events, including Super Bowl 2023 in 4K HDR, and at no additional cost.
Again, to watch in 4K, simply download the Fox Sports app on a supported device and start watching on the big day. Whether a live TV subscriber or not, Fox’s own app is likely to offer the best Super Bowl LVII streaming experience.
