For those interested in streaming the 2023 Golden Globes, there are two main ways to watch live – NBC and Peacock. As a result, whether signed up to a live TV plan or not, it is possible to watch this year’s Golden Globes event as it happens live and online. Which option is best for a home will depend on their current setup and subscriptions.

The 80th Golden Globe Awards ceremony takes place at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles and is being hosted by comic Jerrod Carmichael. Whether only interested in seeing which movie wins the the 2023 Best Picture Golden Globe, or watching the whole ceremony as it unfolds, the main event is due to begin at 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT.

The cheapest way to watch the 2023 Golden Globes is Peacock. A standard subscription costs $4.99 per month and there is the option to upgrade to an ad-free viewing experience for $9.99 per month. Considering the 2023 Golden Globes are being shown live, upgrading to the ad-free Premium Plus plan won’t make it possible to watch the event without ads.

If only interested in watching the 2023 Golden Globes and not the rest of the Peacock catalog, then the $4.99 Peacock Premium plan is likely to be the best and cheapest option overall.

Stream the 2023 Golden Globes with a live TV plan

For those that would prefer to watch the event via a live TV service, there are plenty of options. The 2023 Golden Globes are due to be shown live on NBC so homes will want to make sure that the live TV service they are signing up to does include NBC as part of its channel lineup.

In general, the cheapest live TV streaming service with NBC is Sling TV. While Sling offers two main plans for consumers to choose from, Sling Blue is the only package that includes NBC. Furthermore, NBC is only available in select markets through Sling TV, so it is best to verify local channel availability for NBC before signing up to Sling Blue.

Deal: First month only $20.

Outside of Sling TV, homes do have a wide choice of live TV providers to pick from, albeit at a high monthly price. At $64.99 per month, the next cheapest is YouTube TV and this will probably be the better option for homes that run into issues accessing NBC through Sling TV. Although YouTube TV typically offers a 7-day free trial to new users, it is currently possible to sign up and get 14 days for free.

Otherwise, DirecTV Stream and Hulu Live TV both provide access to NBC as part of their base plans, and both cost a minimum of $69.99 per month. Of the two, only DirecTV Stream currently offers a free trial. However, a Hulu Live TV subscription does also unlock access to Disney Plus, ESPN Plus, and the base Hulu library, which may make it a better option for some homes.

Even though fuboTV is another option, it is currently the most expensive way to stream the 2023 Golden Globes. The live TV streaming service recently increased the price of all of its base plans, with the cheapest ‘Pro’ tier providing access to NBC for $74.99 per month.
