How To Watch Harry Potter: Which Streaming Service & How Much? [Updated October 2022]

Harry Potter Movies with remote

Harry Potter is available to watch on Peacock. In fact, the NBCUniversal-owned streaming service currently has all of the Harry Potter movies available to stream. Whether looking to watch Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone or Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, Peacock is the place to be.

The Harry Potter collection remains an extremely popular series of movies and although streaming can make watching them easier, that’s only when they are available through a service that an individual or household has access to, and on the devices they have in the home. With popular franchises like Harry Potter, this has not always been easy to do in the past, due to the movie collection having moved from one service to another.

Although none of the movies are currently available to watch through Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon Prime Video, the Harry Potter collection was previously available to stream through other services, including HBO Max. Right now, however, all of the Harry Potter movies can be watched directly through the Peacock streaming service.

Watching Harry Potter on Peacock

Although Peacock can be watched for free, the Harry Potter collection requires a paid premium subscription. There are two premium plans available, with the difference in price mainly affects the use of ads. The standard Premium plan is priced at $4.99 per month and is an ad-supported subscription. The more expensive Premium Plus plan costs $9.99 per month and removes the ads. Anyone signing up to either of these plans will be able to watch the entire Harry Potter collection from start to finish.

Peacock also offers annual plans which can help to save on the cost over the entire year. Excluding any limited-time deals that might be available at the time, the Premium ad-supported annual plan costs $49.99 per year while the ad-free Premium Plus ad-free annual plan costs $99.99 per year.

If hoping to binge all of the Harry Potter movies very quickly, and while taking advantage of a free trial, Peacock currently doesn’t offer new users a free trial. As a result, the cheapest way to sign up and watch the Harry Potter will be the $4.99 monthly plan.

Other ways to watch Harry Potter

There are some additional ways to watch Harry Potter movies without a subscription although they do require renting or purchasing. All of the Harry Potter movies can be rented or bought directly through a number of online stores, including Amazon Prime Video, the App Store, and YouTube. Most of these digital stores also make it possible to rent or buy either a single Harry Potter movie or the entire collection.

If only planning to watch one of the movies, the rental may be a better and cheaper option than paying the monthly subscription cost. If only considering signing up to a subscription for the Harry Potter movies, and if planning to watch them more than once, then buying the collection might end up being a better (and more affordable) solution over the long term.

Of course, if having access to a selection of additional TV shows and movies appeals to the individual or household, then it might be better to go the subscription route and benefit from everything else that Peacock has to offer.

Where to watch Harry Potter summary

Harry Potter movies are not available to stream with a Prime Video, Netflix, Hulu, or HBO Max subscription. Instead, all eight Harry Potter movies are currently available to watch through Peacock. The service costs $4.99 or $9.99 per month depending on whether opting for an ad-supported or ad-free viewing experience. At present, Peacock does not offer a free trial.

Any or all of the Harry Potter movies can also be rented or purchased from a number of digital stores, including Amazon, iTunes and YouTube. Whether it is better to sign up to a Peacock subscription or simply rent/buy the movies will depend on how often the individual plans to watch Harry Potter, and whether access to additional shows and movies is worth it.
