Today is ‘DirecTV Day’ and marks the 30th anniversary of the company. DirecTV is celebrating the big day by offering Perks members the ability to rent movies with fewer tokens than usual.

While DirecTV Perks members typically need to spend 250 tokens to rent a movie, they’ll be able to rent one for only 30 tokens between June 17 and June 20. As a reminder, DirecTV has already been offering Perks Members the chance to win a $5 Baskin-Robbins gift card every day throughout June, as part of the same DirecTV Day celebrations.

DirecTV customers that have yet to sign up for DirecTV Perks can still do so through the Perks website. While the limited-time movie rental perk requires tokens, entering to win an ice cream gift card doesn’t require any tokens at all.

Outside of the Perks program, DirecTV will also be marking the anniversary with employees taking part in various volunteer opportunities, and by hosting employee celebrations in select locations throughout the country.

DirecTV Day is a celebration of our company’s past, present, and future, and there is no better way for us to celebrate than by inviting our loyal customers to the party and by volunteering our time in the communities that our employees and customers call home,” said Jon Greer, head of communications & community at DirecTV.

While DirecTV isn’t offering any specific DirecTV Day deals (that we know of) for new customers, the company is still running a promotion which discounts the first three months of its Choice, Ultimate and Premier plans. This is in addition to offering Max, Cinemax, Starz, Paramount+ with Showtime, and MGM+ for free for the first three months.
