Google TV has added eight new channels from different distributors, including CBC, FilmRise and Scripps Networks. While it is unclear exactly when they went live, users in the United States can access all eight new additions right now in the Live section.
The eight new Google TV channels include:
- Cheaters
- CBC News & Explore
- Court TV Legendary Trials
- FilmRise Horror
- FilmRise True Crime
- Grit Xtra
- Heartland
- Laff More
The new channels take the total number of Google TV channels available in the United States up to 124. Considering Google TV also provides access to FAST channels from Haystack News, Plex, Pluto TV, and Tubi, the total number of free channels is more than 800.
As a reminder, all of these free channels are available to watch without the need for any additional apps. Instead, Google TV users can access the channels directly through the Live tab on supported Google TV devices. Alternatively, all124 free Google TV channels can also be accessed through the Free TV Channels app that was recently added to the Apps row.
Google TV users may have noticed that a new update rolled out recently with circular app icons. This update is designed to provide a “sleeker, more streamlined look” and easier access to all of the apps installed on the device without having to click on See all.
