FX On YouTube TV: How Much It Costs And What’s Included

FX on Youtube TV

A YouTube TV subscription includes FX, FXM and FXX channels, making it a good option for anyone looking for a live TV streaming service with access to as much FX content as possible. In addition, some of the more general benefits of a YouTube TV subscription can help to further improve the FX experience for viewers.

A number of popular FX shows are available to watch through Hulu, and sometimes as soon as the day after they’ve been shown on live TV. Still, for the ability to watch FX content as it is shown live, a TV subscription is required. Although there are multiple live TV services to choose from these days, they do differ in many ways. For example, not only are they all priced differently, but the channel selection can vary massively as well.

The standard YouTube TV subscription is priced at $64.99 per month and includes FX. The base plan provides access to more than 85 channels in general and the lineup not only includes FX but also FXM and FXX as well. As a result, consumers signing up to YouTube TV don’t have to pay anything more than the $64.99 per month for access to all three FX channels. The exception here is streaming FX in 4K. YouTube TV does require subscribers to sign up to the 4K Plus add-on to watch any available content in 4K.

For reference, a number of live TV streaming services do include FX, so there is a choice for those that don’t find the rest of the YouTube TV channel lineup to be suitable for their needs. In fact, the cheapest way to watch FX in general is Sling TV. The Sling Blue plan includes FX and costs just $35 per month. However, Sling TV subscribers do need to add the Hollywood Extra add-on at $6 per month if they also want access to FXM and FXX.

Other FX benefits with YouTube TV

In addition to getting access to all three FX channels with the base plan, the standard YouTube TV subscription also comes with an unlimited cloud DVR. As a result subscribers can record as many FX shows and movies as they like without having to worry about using up their recording space. A single account can also be shared with up to five other people and each person get access to their one unlimited DVR. Furthermore, YouTube TV also offers on-demand access as well, so subscribers may find there are plenty of FX videos available without the need to watch live or set up recordings.

All of the above can be accessed directly through the YouTube TV app on any of the supported streaming players and smart TVs. However, it is worth knowing that YouTube TV also includes TV Everywhere support for FX. In other words, YouTube TV subscribers can use their account details to log in to the FX website and watch any of the live FX channels or any of the available on-demand videos. The same is also possible if downloading the FX Now app on a compatible device.

While TV Everywhere support is not unique to YouTube TV, it is not a featured offered by every live TV service, or for every channel included with a subscription. As it can be a good way to expand the amount of content available from a network, it is worth making sure TV Everywhere support is included with a subscription before paying for a live TV service.

FX on YouTube TV summary

FX, FXM and FXX are all included in the standard YouTube TV plan. In addition to all three FX live channels, YouTube TV subscribers can also take advantage of an unlimited cloud DVR and access to on-demand FX videos. Not to mention, TV Everywhere support is also included making it possible to access the FX website and FX Now app using a YouTube TV subscriber’s login details.

Priced at $64.99 per month, YouTube TV is a good option for those looking for access to FX content, but it’s not the cheapest overall. If price is more important than the rest of the channel lineup, or additional features, a service like Sling TV could be a better option for FX.
