Fubo subscribers are being warned they could lose access to Monumental Sports Network. Formerly NBC Sports Washington, Monumental Sports Network is home to Washington Capitals, Washington Wizards and Washington Mystics games.
The possibility of the regional sports network being dropped is the result of a potential carriage dispute. According to the KeepMonumental website, Monumental is currently renegotiating its carriage agreement with Fubo. While Monumental does state the two companies “are working diligently to reach an equitable agreement,” the warning suggests it is possible a deal won’t be agreed, resulting in the removal of the channel.
As Monumental hasn’t confirmed when the current deal is due to end, it remains unclear if and when the channel might be removed. In the case that a deal isn’t agreed in time, Fubo subscribers could lose access to most live Washington Mystics, Washington Capitals and Washington Wizards live games and additional content.
As a reminder, Monumental Sports Network launched its own subscription service in late 2023, offering fans in the Washington, DC viewing area the option to subscribe directly. If opting to sign up for the standalone service, a subscription costs $19.99 a month or $199.99 a year.
In addition to saving around 16% each year, the annual plan also unlocks the ability to stream on up to three devices at the same time, as well as additional discounts on tickets and merchandise.
For those that might consider switching live TV providers in the event Monumental Sports Network is removed from the Fubo channel lineup, DirecTV Stream (Choice or higher) and YouTube TV both offer access to the regional sports network with their base live TV packages.
