Fubo Subscribers To Get Unlimited DVR Upgrade Following Latest Price Increase

Fubo subscribers are finally getting an unlimited DVR. However, the bump in recording hours follows another bump in price. While the price increase is already live for new subscribers, both new and existing subscribers will have to wait another few weeks for the unlimited DVR to become available.

At present, Fubo subscribers are limited in terms of how many recording hours they have access to. Regardless of whether subscribed to the Pro, Elite or Premier plan, all subscribers get 1,000 hours of cloud DVR included with their subscription. The only exception here is Latino subscribers who are resigned to 250 hours.

Soon, however, all Pro, Elite and Premier subscribers will find they have been bumped up to an unlimited DVR. While Fubo hasn’t said exactly when the change will take effect, the company did explain that the unlimited DVR service “will become available in the coming weeks.”

As mentioned, this change is following another price increase. Beginning today, all of Fubo’s live TV packages have increased by $5 a month, taking the minimum monthly cost up to $79.99. Existing subscribers will also see their prices increase by $5, albeit not before February 1, 2024.

With the price increase in mind, it is not unreasonable to think of the addition of the unlimited DVR as costing an additional $5 a month. While that’s not technically what has happened — Fubo makes clear the price increase is due to ‘programming partners raising the prices they charge us’ — both changes have been announced at the same time, with the DVR upgrade seemingly a way to soften the blow of the price increase.

Either way, those signing up today at the new rates, or sticking with Fubo following next month’s price increase, soon won’t have to worry about how many movies, shows, and live sports events they’ve recorded.
