Fubo ended the fourth quarter of the year, and 2023 overall, with 1.618 million paid subscribers In North America. According to Fubo, the number represents a record high for the live TV streaming service.

Considering Fubo closed out the third quarter of 2023 with 1.477 million North American subscribers, the company managed to add around 140,000 in the final three months of the year. This is a fairly big increase in a single quarter for Fubo, and one which helped the service reach a new subscriber high in the region.

Typically speaking, Fubo tends to do better in certain quarters than others, due to an increase in signups related to live sports. On that note, Fubo closed out the fourth quarter of 2022 with 1.445 million subscribers in North America, resulting in an increase of around 173,000 on a year-over-year basis.

With that sports seasonality point in mind, Fubo is now predicting its subscriber base will decline during the first quarter of 2024. According to Fubo’s forecasting, the live TV streaming service expects to end the current quarter with between 1.415 and 1.435 million paid subscribers in North America. If that estimation is correct, and even though it will be a decline on Q4 2023, it will still be an increase on the 1.285 million North American subscribers reported at the end of the first quarter of 2023.

In terms of Fubo’s Rest of World (ROW) market, the company ended the previous quarter with 406,000 paid subscribers. This is a decrease of around 5,000 on the 411,000 reported at the end of Q3 2023, and a decrease of roughly 14,000 on the 420,000 subscribers reported at the end of 2022.

According to Fubo’s forecasting, the company expected the number of ROW paid subscribers to have declined to between 380,000 and 385,000 paid subscribers at the end of the current quarter (Q1 2024). While a decrease on the previous quarter, the estimation represents a ROW increase on the 379,000 subscribers reported at the end of the first quarter of 2023.
